Tree Service in Magnolia, TX
Where is Magnolia and how far is it from Conroe?
Magnolia sits at the junction of FM 1774 and FM 1488, about twenty five miles southwest of Conroe and roughly thirty minutes from our yard. We cover the 77354 and 77355 ZIP codes, which stretch well past the city limits into the acreage country along FM 1488, FM 149, and the SH 249 corridor.
That spread is the point. Magnolia is less a town we service than a region we service, and the jobs change completely depending on which side of it you are on.
What kind of tree work does Magnolia actually need?
Land clearing, more than anything else. Magnolia is one of the fastest growing parts of Montgomery County, and new sections keep going in: Magnolia Forest off Jackson Road on more than 155 acres, Spring Creek Trails adding sections across 65 acres, and Marble Creek on 81 acres. Every one of those starts with raw pine and hardwood that has to come off the ground.
On individual acreage the same work shows up smaller. A five acre tract bought for a house needs a building pad, a driveway run, and a septic field cleared, and it usually needs the yaupon understory taken out before anyone can even walk the property line. That is lot clearing, and it is a different machine and a different crew than a residential removal.
Pasture and fence line work is the other half. Brush hogging on neglected acreage in this area usually means three or four years of regrowth, not a season of it.
Do you work for builders and developers?
Yes. Section clearing, multi lot work, and right of way clearing run as commercial tree services with staged access and one point of contact, which matters when there are three other trades trying to get onto the same site.
The scheduling problem in Magnolia is ground conditions. Clay holds water here, and a tract that is workable on Monday can be unusable after a Tuesday storm. We plan clearing sequences around access rather than around the map.
Which trees dominate the Magnolia area?
Loblolly pine and post oak, with heavy yaupon holly and sweetgum filling the understory. Anyone who has walked W.G. Jones State Forest off FM 1488 has seen exactly what the uncleared version of this land looks like, and that is what most raw tracts here still are.
The estate communities are different. Lake Windcrest and High Meadow Ranch are acreage neighborhoods with private lakes, golf, and horse zoned lots, and the trees there are established specimens people want kept rather than cleared. That work is canopy trimming, deadwood removal, and health care rather than clearing.
Around Unity Park and the older parts of town off FM 1774, lots are smaller and the work looks like standard residential removal and pruning.
What happens to the material you clear?
It is chipped and hauled, burned where burning is permitted and appropriate, or mulched in place if you want the organic matter kept on the property. On larger tracts, mulching in place is often the cheaper and better option.
Before any clearing job with digging involved, underground lines have to be located. That is free and required, and Texas 811 handles it. We place the ticket, but the site has to be marked before a machine touches the ground.
